Other return options
You can also hand in used electrical appliances at suitable public collection points or other authorised take-back points, such as a municipal recycling centre. Check with the particular collection point which appliances it accepts and how drop-off is organised.
Collect electrical waste separately
Used electrical appliances must not go in household waste. They must be collected separately so that they can be reused or properly recycled. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates this separate collection requirement.
Before handing in your appliance
- Before drop-off, remove used batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not enclosed within the appliance, as well as lamps, where this can be done without causing damage. Do not damage the appliance or any batteries.
- You are responsible for deleting personal data from the appliance before handing it in, such as stored accounts, photos or login details.
Information on returning and disposing of used batteries separately is available in our battery disposal information.
